Gold had always been a fan of the model and Gym Leader Elesa. And so, after defeating the Champions of the Kanto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh regions he reached Unova. Upon arriving at the Nimbasa Gym, he decided that if he won he would get a picture with Elesa.

Naturally, he got that picture and no badge. Currently, she is refusing a rematch.
